Yes, when you visit the office of Barbour Real Estate, Carlie, the Rottie, will greet you with a big woof and a wet lick on the hand.
She is Jane Barbour's very special grandpup.
The Following Is Some "Jane Stuff"
I have been practicing real estate since 1976 and have been co-owner of Barbour Real Estate since 1979 with my husband and best friend Nathan. You could almost say that I have seen it all. I have mentored and trained some of our best competitors in the area. Growing up in Waterbury, I used to stand outside the window of the local and only real estate agency which was located next to Irene's Beauty Parlor and memorize all of the photos of the homes for sale and their prices while Mom was getting her hair done. I would then ask if we could drive by them. I was also an active participant in my parent's first home purchase at the ripe old age of 5 when they kindly asked me to remove myself from the kitchen table as they were speaking with the real estate agent, Willard Breen. I think I was probably giving away all of their bargaining power by confiding their secrets to him. I only had one experience in the house looking process back then because the first house that we looked at I announced boldly upon entering, that the house stunk! Well, after all, it was Sunday and they were having cabbage for dinner- rule #1- do not cook cruciferous vegetables just before a showing. OK- EEEnough!
Anyway, you probably get it by now, I love to have fun and real estate is in my blood. My brother is a Methodist minister, Mom used to say that we were both in "sales"! If you make a job fun, you will never get tired of it. I always tell my new agents, anyone can be in real estate but to be successful and endure , real estate has to be in you! So there you have it- I have been doing this job awhile and I love it! So, if you are looking to buy or sell please give me a call, I would be honored to have the opportunity to help out. Our office is full of agents, down to earth and friendly- no pressure and remember there is no such thing as a dumb question.
So, what are you waiting for- give us a try!
